Subcarrier’s second season begins with the legendary Alejandro Escovedo.  Coming out of a highly notable musical family (including sister Sheila E.), he has explored countless genres and styles of rock music, over a career spanning nearly 40 years.  His most recent album, Burn Something Beautiful, was written with Scott McCaughey of The Minus 5 and Peter Buck from R.E.M., and they both appear with him onstage in this episode.  Alejandro Escovedo has received varied and tremendous accolades, including No Depression magazine’s Artist of the Decade Award in 1998 and the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Performing in 2006, and it’s a tremendous honor to have him inaugurate this new season of the program.
